Dr. Tess O’Sullivan is a Cork native and graduated from University College Cork (UCC) in 2009. Having completed her internship in Cork and Limerick, she initially undertook Surgical Training under the auspices of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). She became a member of the RCSI in 2013 (MRCS).
She subsequently became a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners (MICGP) having undertaken specialist vocational training with the Mid West Scheme in Limerick. She worked in West Limerick and Limerick City before joining Newtown Medical Centre in 2019.
Dr. O’Sullivan has a keen interest in Women’s Health, Preventative Medicine and Family Planning. She has undertaken a post graduate diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG), a certificate in Contraception from the ICGP, is a certified smear taker, a LARC (long acting reversible contraception) inserter, a contraception tutor and is currently undertaking a Community Gynaecology Certificate with the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP). Her clinical interests include contraception, preconceptual planning, fertility and menopause.
Dr. O’Sullivan is passionate about delivering evidence based medicine. Outside of Newtown Medical Centre, she is a Medical Educator and is currently an Assistant Scheme Director with the ICGP Mid West Specialist GP Training Scheme based in the University of Limerick.
