Dr. Valerie Keating graduated from University College Dublin in 1996 and completed her intern year in St. Vincent’s Hospital Dublin. She then undertook specialist training in paediatrics in Temple Street and Our Lady’s Hospital For Sick Children Crumlin culminating with working as locum Consultant in the A&E Department in Crumlin.
She was then offered a place in the Royal College of Surgeons GP Scheme which involved rotating through various medical specialities in Dublin hospitals. Dr. Keating was awarded Membership of the College of General Practitioners in 2001.
Dr. Keating worked as a GP in Kildare for many years before moving back to Limerick with her young family of 4 children in 2011. She joined Dr. Robert Magnier in Newtown Medical Centre as partner that year and the practice has gone from strength to strength since then.
Dr. Keating has special interests in paediatrics, gynaecology, dermatology and cosmetic dermatology and is very proud to serve the patients in the community in which she grew up.
