Eileen (Ellen) Brennan

Eileen is a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP) in General Practice with over four decades of nursing experience across acute and primary care settings. A native of Cork, she completed her general nurse training at Mercy University Hospital, Cork, before specialising in Intensive Care Nursing at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin, and Accident and Emergency Nursing through the Royal Victoria Hospital Group, Belfast.

 

Eileen has held senior clinical and leadership roles, including Clinical Nurse Manager 2 in Accident and Emergency, and has served as an instructor in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Trauma Nursing Core Course programmes. She later specialised in General Practice Nursing, completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Studies (Practice Nursing) at NUI Galway, qualifying as a Registered Nurse Prescriber through University College Cork, and obtaining a Surgical Skills qualification from Dublin City University.

 

Having completed a Master of Science in Advanced Practice at the University of Limerick, Eileen practises as a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner, delivering advanced, autonomous, evidence-based, patient-centred care. Her areas of special interest include care of the older person, diabetes, cardiovascular health, chronic kidney disease, health promotion, and disease prevention. She is committed to empowering patients and improving health outcomes through clinical excellence, innovation, and compassionate care.
